MEET Nolyn Sprouse

Owner & Head Instructor at Daruma Dojo Karate

Nolyn Sprouse is the owner and head instructor of Daruma Dojo Karate in Midlothian, VA. With over 20 years of martial arts experience, he holds a 5th-degree black belt in Okinawan Shorin-ryu karate under Sensei Mike Eggleston. Nolyn began his journey in 2005 and earned his black belt in 2008, going on to win multiple national medals in the AAU/USA Karate circuit. As a seasoned competitor and coach, he’s passionate about helping students grow through disciplined training, earned achievement, and personal development. Known for his structured yet engaging teaching style, Nolyn is committed to guiding students of all ages to become confident, respectful, and resilient—both inside and outside the dojo.
